The College’s Regional Tour is hosting meetings in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 to hear firsthand about the medical care delivery challenges facing these communities.
These meetings come on the heels of a safe prescribing forum the CPSA hosted in Edmonton on October 25th, 2016, where speakers addressed the over-use and abuse of prescription opioids, and discussed possible solutions. In hopes of continuing this conversation, the CPSA leads meetings in Lethbridge and Medicine Hat with physicians, healthcare organizations, and community groups to understand the regional factors affecting safe prescribing and to identify other local issues that may impact the delivery of quality medical care.

The CPSA Regional Tour focuses on building relationships with physicians, understanding the patient’s perspective and outlining the College’s role in the health care system. We visit Alberta communities to hear from front-line physicians and host community conversations to learn about local health care issues.
